What is the difference between beta alanine and creatine?
1. What is beta alanine?
The harder you exercise, the more Hydrogen Ions your body accumulates, causing your muscle’s pH level drop. The result is tired muscles that are no longer working at full speed. The amino acid BETA ALANINE boosts the creation of carnosine in your muscles which neutralizes the Hydrogen Ions. The pH level is stabilized, allowing you to maintain the intensity level for longer.
By the way: BETA ALANINE from PowerBar is only product on the market with „slow release to muscles“:
This unique feature ensures a sustained release and an efficient absorption in the body.

2. What is the advantage of beta alanine to me?
The more demanding your exercise or the race, the more Hydrogen Ions your body accumulates, causing your muscle’s pH level drop. In short, they become more acidic.
Tired muscles do not work at full speed. The amino acid BETA-ALANINE boosts the creation of carnosine in your muscles which buffers the Hydrogen Ions.
The pH level is stabilized, allowing you to maintain the intensity level for longer.

The harder you push in the gym, the more weight you put on to lift, the more Hydrogen Ions your body accumulates, causing your muscle’s pH level drop.
In short, they become more acidic. Tired muscles do not work at 100% of their potential. The amino acid BETA-ALANINE boosts the creation of carnosine in your muscles which buffers the Hydrogen Ions.
The pH level is stabilized, allowing you to push more reps in every workout.

3. What is the difference between beta alanine and creatine?
Beta-alanine and creatine can push the limits of your intense training, although both supplements work in your muscles to boost performance in different ways.
Creatine has been shown to increase muscle explosiveness, while beta-alanine supplementation, which increases muscle carnosine, increases high-intensity exercise performance.
Thus, some studies have shown that combined beta-alanine and creatine supplementation may provide greater training benefits

Sebastian Kaindl
Bavarian power lifting champion
Sebastian has tested the Beta Alanine PowerBar.

Week 1:
With five weeks to go until the Bavarian Championship, today I started taking the Beta Alanine supplements. My preparations for the competition have been going really well but my weight is still at 97.8 kg, meaning I could gain 6.2 kg and still be within the upper limit of my weight class.
Week 2:
I'm tolerating Beta Alanine very well with just a mild aching of the skin about 30 minutes after ingestion.
Week 3:
A new personal record for pull-ups! I managed 22 pull-ups, even though my body weight is now at 99 kg. I am gradually beginning to notice the effects of Beta Alanine, evident in all my spot exercises where my reps in particular have significantly increased. In the third and fourth set in particular I notice only a very minor drop in the number of reps.
Week 4:
Today I measured my strength in the 225 lb test. This involves performing as many 100 kg benchpresses as possible and I increased my record from 19 to 22! And this even after the really heavy bench presses! Beta Alanine rules!
Week 5:
Last week before the Bavarian Championship! Just light training, rest and looking forward to the event.
Week 6:
Bavarian Champion! The competition took longer than expected. After weighing in at 4 p.m. at 100.2 kg, the competition itself should have begun at 5:40 p.m. However, it didn't start until 6.40 p.m. and I made my last attempt at the deadlift at 10.45 p.m. That meant lifting as much as possible in between to stay warmed up. Normally this is an absolute killer for energy levels, but everything went surprisingly well...when preparing for my next competition I will definitely take Beta Alanine again!

Bernhard tested the Beta Alanine PowerBar for 8 weeks.

Week 1:
Just a few weeks left before the major tours and I have begun my Beta Alanine loading phase. Am curious to see if it works the way PowerBar and my team doctor tell me it will. If it does work then in a few weeks' time I should be much better at sprinting and high-intensity things.
Week 3:
Subjectively I feel I am coping with the hard sessions and intervals better! The loading phase is almost over. Sometimes I feel a slight prickling in my arms, but this is normal in sensitive athletes. However the training runs show that I am doing really well and have a great punch! I'm excited about the weeks ahead!
Week 5:
End of the Beta Alanine loading phase. I have just been looking at the SRM powermeter data with the team doctor and the evidence is clear: my performance during hard interval training really has improved significantly! So my subjective feeling was indeed right that with Beta Alanine I can cope more easily with higher intensity training and competition! In the Beta-Alanine maintenance phase we planned especially intense workouts right from the start, and the data shows that this has worked really well! Am interested to see if it works as well during the Giro and the Tour.
Week 7:
The maintenance phase is now as good as over and the results in the Powermeter are still convincing and significant. Fantastic!! Just one more week and then the "reservoirs" are full and the "wash-out phase" will start over the next 8-10 weeks, during which the levels will still be high. Then it will down to putting in a good performance.
Week 9:
The HTC-Highroad Team is having a fantastic Tour de France with 6 stage wins. Any questions? Amazing.
